Wealth management represents one of technology's final frontiers, having long been shielded by its dependence on slow-built personal relationships and manual processes rather than scalable systems. Range is disrupting that model.

We’ve built Rai, the first conversational AI that delivers the precision of a human financial planner with the speed and scalability of Range's proprietary technology, with powerful data processing capabilities that allow it to spot and resolve issues that archaic advisors can easily miss. The wealth manager of the future is fast, cost-effective, and understands your evolving financial context at all times—that’s Rai.

Drawing from our years of financial planning experience, proprietary tools, and unwavering fiduciary philosophy, we can scale faster in bringing comprehensive, pragmatic financial guidance to millions of customers at a lower cost than ever before.

What Makes Rai Finance‑Native

Since Range started, our mission has been to use AI to automate our financial planning workflows, rapidly scaling our planners’ availability to serve members. Much like industry trends in highly regulated fields like medicine and law, we believe that personal finance AI needs to be customized with the nuance and complexities applicable to the field – an area where foundation models fall short. We believe Rai covers that void - we’ve leveraged decades of experience from our financial advisors, investment specialists, and world-class technical team to build compliance-grade generative AI to guide our customers through personalized financial planning, market insights, cashflow analysis, and scenario modeling.

Rai is built on top of foundational models from OpenAI and Anthropic, with custom logic from our proprietary technology that spans multiple agents, historical data, and projection engines. Our proprietary tools enable Rai to do the following:

  • Advanced Retirement Modeling - Run Monte Carlo simulations considering customized portfolio allocations, inflation expectations, strategic borrowing, and debt management strategies.
  • Tax-Aware Planning - Identify and seize tax optimization opportunities in all financial decisions.
  • Account Balance Modeling - Track and project balances for all types of financial accounts.
  • Comprehensive Cash Flow Projections - Generate detailed year-by-year cash flow projections that adapt to member behavior and personalized goals.
  • Net Worth Tracking - Project net worth changes over time across all asset classes.

Chatting with Rai is like chatting with the best planners in the business, but with an edge: Rai is available 24/7, and can provide immediate guidance and analyses—no need to wait until next quarter to meet with an advisor. With Rai, speed does not compromise quality: Rai invokes the same tools, projections, and analysis engines that our Certified Financial Planners (CFPs)1 use when building financial plans for members.

How Rai Gives Personalized, Actionable Advice

When a member asks a question, Rai dives into a multi-stage processing pipeline designed to give personalized, professional-level guidance informed by the member’s specific financial context.

1) Understanding the Full Financial Picture

When a member asks Rai a question, it first determines exactly what context it needs to deliver the best answer. Rai uses proprietary technology to pull together relevant data from member accounts, transaction history, and financial goals to inform its answer.

2) Combining Domain Expertise With Complex Financial Modeling

Rai orchestrates domain-specific agents to provide personalized financial guidance—think of it like having a complete team of financial experts (specializing in areas from tax and investing to equity and estate planning) at members’ disposal, 24/7. Harnessing these agents’ expertise, Rai’s financial calculators perform precise financial modeling, including retirement projections, tax optimization strategies, and investment allocation models.

3) Generating a Response

Rai then takes all this analysis and translates it into clear, actionable advice anchored in Range’s trusted planning philosophy and financial knowledge base.

Proven Performance: Delivering Professional-Level Results

We believe Rai is the industry-defining wealth management agent, as shown by its performance across benchmarks modeled on Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) exam practice questions. We tested it on hundreds of CFP® style multiple-choice questions, and the results speak for themselves:

Rai achieved 95% accuracy on CFP® exam-style sample questions

The CFP® exam is the preeminent exam for financial planners and wealth managers worldwide. Although the CFP® Board does not publish a passing score, exam-prep providers generally recommend that candidates aim for practice-test scores of about 70–75% to be on track to pass the official exam.

The exam tests proficiency across a variety of topics, namely: Retirement Savings and Income Planning, Investment Planning, General Principles of Financial Planning, Income Tax Planning, Risk Management and Insurance Planning, Estate Planning, Professional Conduct and Regulation, and Psychology of Financial Planning.

To test the performance of Rai, we compiled a set of 660 CFP® exam–style multiple‑choice questions drawn from public sample material and third‑party prep materials. Each question is a standalone multiple-choice question. State-of-the-art models were run with consistent prompts and no external tools.

What’s next?

These benchmark results validate what we've always believed: Rai can deliver better financial advice than most human advisors, at a fraction of the cost, available instantly.

But that’s just the beginning. As Rai evolves to take real action (moving your money, rebalancing portfolios, executing trades), our fiduciary duty stays front and center. Our members’ best interest will always come first, and that stays true with Rai.

1 About the CFP Exam
The CFP® certification examination is a key requirement for achieving CFP® certification. By passing the exam, candidates demonstrate proficiency in knowledge and competency necessary to provide comprehensive financial planning advice to clients.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States, which it authorizes use of by individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.

2 Rai did not take the CFP® certification examination and has not been awarded any professional designations or certifications. Rai’s results reflect internal testing by Range using third-party practice questions (not CFP Board exam items). The ‘Human Advisor Score’ shown is the minimum score test prep providers recommend for practice exams before an individual is considered ready to sit for the CFP. The CFP Board does not publish a specific passing score or any “recommended passing score.” Practice-test performance may differ materially from performance on the CFP® exam and does not predict client outcomes.
