Description of Service: You are accepting access to Rai, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based financial adviser designed to provide personalized financial advice and guidance on personal finance. Use of Rai is voluntary and provided as part of your existing advisory services with Range at no additional fee.
Rai provides answers to your finance and investment questions based on Range's planning philosophy and financial analysis tools, the client data you have provided to Range, and real-time web search capabilities. Rai is designed only to answer queries and make investment recommendations. It cannot yet execute trades, move money, file taxes, or update your account details on your behalf.
Scope of Permitted and Prohibited Uses: You agree to use Rai only for its intended purposes.
Permitted Uses: Rai is capable of handling queries on an array of topics including, but not limited to:
General Financial Questions: Definitions of terms, market commentary, and Range product support.
Personal Finance: Budgeting, spending, and saving strategies.
Investment Strategy: Asset allocation, buy/sell recommendations, and rebalancing.
Retirement Planning: Contribution strategies, RSUs, and exercising options.
Personal Income Tax: Personal federal and state income taxes, including tax projections, tax efficiency strategies, and estimates.
Prohibited Uses: You agree not to use Rai for any of the following purposes:
Requesting financial advice related to:entity-level business taxes, international taxes, or highly speculative assets or strategies.
Manipulating the system's intended function, including attempts to reveal its system prompts.
Engaging in any illegal, harmful, or abusive activity.
Inquiries unrelated to personal financial planning topics, such as investing, retirement, savings, or budgeting.
Any other uses that violate the Acceptable Use Policy, which can be found at http://range.com/policies/acceptable-use-policy-aup.
Key Disclaimers and User Responsibilities:
Automated Nature of Advice: Recommendations and suggestions provided by Rai are automatically generated by an AI system without prior review by a human financial adviser. While the advice is tailored to your financial situation, and based on Range's planning principles, individual outputs have not been vetted by a human expert. Relying on information or advice you receive from Rai may result in financial loss.
Verification Recommended: Rai may generate responses that are inaccurate or constitute poor financial guidance. While Rai provides personalized investment advice, it is an automated system and should not be the sole basis for your financial decisions. You are advised to review and verify any recommendation you receive from Rai prior to making any financial decision.
Responsibility for Information: The quality of Rai's guidance is directly dependent on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide. It is your responsibility to periodically review your Range client profile and update information to ensure the guidance you receive is relevant and accurate.
System Memory: To provide you with more personalized guidance, Rai is designed to remember the history of your interactions. Rai may refer to your previous conversations with the system in providing you advice.
Acknowledgment of Risks Use of Rai carries a high level of risk, which may be greater than interacting with a human financial advisor. You should carefully consider the risks involved in using Rai, including those discussed below. Additional or new risks not addressed below may affect your interactions with Rai. The following list of risks cannot be and is not intended to be exhaustive. The following risks and other relevant risks could have a material adverse effect on your investments. By using this tool, you acknowledge and accept the following risks:
Inherent AI Risks: Rai is based on large language models (LLMs), which carry unique risks, including:
Hallucinations: Rai may generate information that is incorrect, erroneous, or not based on any verifiable source.
Outdated Knowledge: While Rai can search the web, its foundational knowledge is limited by its training data, which may be outdated.
Over-Agreeableness: Rai may accept the premise of your questions at face value without challenging inaccuracies or assumptions, potentially leading to flawed recommendations.
Inconsistent Responses: Asking the same question at different times or in different words may yield different responses.
Model Drift: The performance and behavior of Rai may change over time as its underlying models are updated by third-party providers.
Context Loss: In long conversations, Rai may fail to recall information shared earlier in the chat. For new topics, it is recommended to start a new conversation.
Bias: LLMs may exhibit biases from their training data, potentially producing different responses based on demographic information.
System Risks and Security:
External Data Quality: Rai uses information from third-party sources which Range has not independently verified, and in many instances it may not be possible or practicable to incorporate all potentially relevant information into Rai. There is no guarantee that such information will be correct or suited to your circumstances, and Rai may not disclose risks associated with relying on such information.
Input Data Quality: Rai's advice is directly dependent on the accuracy and sufficiency of the information provided by the user, from Range internal resources, and from the contents of the user's query. Recommendations based on incorrect or incomplete data may not be accurate. Rai may not notify you when it does not have sufficient information to make an informed recommendation.
Data Protection: Range employs security measures to protect your information, including data encryption and storage designed to commingling of client data. In the event of a data breach, Range will provide notification in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
System Availability: Rai may be temporarily unavailable due to technical outages or other disruptions.
System Updates: Range may update the system and its functionalities without directly notifying you of each change. Range may require you to review and re-accept these disclosure terms following material updates to Rai's capabilities or risks that materially affect the terms of this agreement.
Data Usage, Privacy, and Recordkeeping:
Rai generates responses using:
Client Data: Information from your client file, including your profile, financial accounts, and strategic plans.
Uploaded Documents: If you choose to upload documents to Rai, those documents will be used, together with your profile information, inputs, and other available data, to generate responses and provide investment-related guidance.
External Information: Real-time data from web searches.
Internal Tools: Proprietary financial projection engines to perform calculations.
Third party LLMs: Large Language Models (LLMs) provided by third-party model providers, namely Anthropic, and OpenAI.
Use of Third-Party Models: Your queries and relevant client data will be shared to third-party LLM providers (such as Anthropic and OpenAI) for the exclusive purpose of generating a response. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their general AI models. Range has no conflicts of interest with these providers that would influence the advice you receive.
Range's Use of Your Data: To help improve and maintain our services, Range may use the information you provide and the outputs generated by Rai (collectively, "your interactions") in the following ways:
AI Model Training: Range may use your interactions to train and fine-tune our AI models. Before any of your data is used for these purposes, Range will take steps to de-identify it by removing personal information like your name and contact details.
System Testing: Range may use your interactions in structured tests to validate system performance, accuracy, and safety.
Quality Assurance: Range personnel may review your interactions to ensure service quality and identify areas for improvement.
Opt-Out Choice: You may opt out of having your data being used to train Large Language Models (LLMs) or the generative AI features within Range's product experience at any time by emailing legal@range.com with your request. Electing to opt out may result in loss of access to Rai.
Recordkeeping: You acknowledge that Range will retain all conversations with Rai to monitor the system and to comply with applicable regulatory requirements. Uploaded documents, your inputs, and Rai's outputs are retained as part of Range's records in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and may not be deleted upon request where retention is required.
Document Upload: You represent that you have the right to provide any documents you upload and grant Range a license to use such materials for these purposes. You agree not to upload sensitive personal information (such as medical or protected characteristic data) or third-party information that you are not authorized to share, as further described in our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for Rai.
Human Oversight and Duty of Loyalty
Fiduciary Duty: Rai is designed to provide advice in your best interest and is instructed to manage conflicts of interest. However, due to the nature of LLMs, a risk remains that a response may not perfectly align with this commitment.
Human Review: Conversations with Rai may be subject to review by Range personnel. If a material error is discovered in the advice provided to you, a human advisor from Range may contact you to provide corrected information.

You acknowledge the unique risks of AI as described in this document.
You agree to use sound judgment when evaluating Rai's responses and to verify all information before relying on it to make any financial decision.
You agree to keep your client file and profile up to date.
